Here is a piece from last year's off-season when the Lions looked to allow him become an unrestricted free agent from +NFL.

Today's edition of the tell-em-why-you-mad-son file features Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas.

The will-be free agent was in Detroit for a physical Friday -- at the request of the Lions -- and dropped the week's best analogy on Detroit Free Press reporter Dave Birkett.

"I almost feel like a girlfriend waiting at home that's got a boyfriend that's cheating on her," said Delmas, who would prefer to remain a Lion. "But it is what it is. I'm trying to see if I can stay at home and get a couple more years out of him.

"The Lions are cheating on me. They're going to the club every damn night and staying out late night, trying to come back home to Daddy. But it's all right."

Delmas isn't bitter or upset about the situation, and he has no expectations from the Lions. "If something could get done today," Delmas said, "something would have got done two months ago." He believes eight teams will be interested in his services, but Michigan is home.

Delmas has been the full-time starter since he was drafted out of Western Michigan in 2009, but missed 13 games the last two seasons with knee issues. Detroit needs all the talent it can get in the defensive backfield, but availability is the major concern.

We'll see if Friday's physical alleviated any of those worries.

UPDATE: NFL.com's Albert Breer reported Friday night, per a source involved in the situation, that Delmas has an offer from the Lions but will hit the free-agent market and weigh his options.

MIA 3rd year raw WR, Matthews, looks like he could be a player coming into form. Dolphins Head Coach, Philbin has done an impressive job with all that has happened with that franchise this year. Would love to hear the media talk about that instead of NE, RGIII this week. Every once in a while they can touch upon QBs from same class as RGIII, like #Tannehill, Wilson, Luck! All of these QBs have been more impressive pro QBs than RGIII personally. Disney wants RGIII to be the megastar, any ESPN viewer can see that, but why not just let them become stars and then hop on which one shows that. Regardless of the name on their jersey (front or back) or when they were drafted or the praise that +ESPNU/college coverage turns them into, during college. Miami, FL - +Miami Dolphins beat the +New England Patriots 27-23 in Miami in Week 15. Holding them to an interception on 4th & 5 on the MIA 11 as time expired. Brady used the slant after slant, mainly to Edelman and Amendola, to move the ball, but Miami made one adjustment to seal the deal. Tannehill has really shown some growing up as Miami remains in prime spot to attain last wild card spot, 8-6 record with +Baltimore Ravens playing at the +Detroit Lions tonight with a 7-6 record. +Chargers 7-7 are right behind them. +Tennessee Titans went to OT but lost to +Arizona Cardinals at home and now stand 6-8. The result gave the +Denver Broncos control of being the #1 seed in the AFC despite their surprising short week loss to San Diego on last Thursday, making their record 11-3. Patriots were 10-3 and with a win they would have tied the Broncos record and owned the tiebreaker because of the head to head tiebreaker. Patriots beat the Broncos 34-31 in OT in week 12. +BRONCOS CR3W says thank you!! #GoFins. In honor of the #Fins, we give Miami some love by recognizing perhaps the second best cheerleader squad in the +NFL. Behind the #BroncosCheerleaders, of course. :D #UnitedinOrange (ironically played in what some refer to as the #OrangeBowl in Miami) #Broncos #Dolphins #Patriots. #Chiefs visiting San Diego is a major match up for both sides. +Kansas City Chiefs handily beat the +Oakland Raiders to go 11-3, but they lose on the tiebreaker with the Broncos. Broncos swept them in both games this year. Week 11 at Denver and Week 13 at Kansas City. Hopefully this woke up the Broncos. To be touched upon. the results and base vanilla game plans on Thursday nights (a reason why Thursday night games tend to go against the grain in terms of blowout games and surprise results, more than usual. Time for the +NFL to take this under consideration AND if safety is a concern of theirs like they say, then they should not force a team to play Thurs. Night Football games unless they were on a bye the week before. Something the +NFL could easily implement and produce a higher quality product as well. If they don't change it, it should not go on beyond week 11 in our opinion. Scrutinize the pro's & con's later. NFL branding #TNF could be much more effective if they have teams playing off of a bye anyway. Games would mean more, be far more superior in quality of play every week as well. Games could become quite exciting and anticipated if they did so... #FoodforThought

Broncos & Seahawks Have Retained Many Preseason Prognostications

A good read from +ESPN's Jon Clayton. Good insight. +Denver Broncos and +Seattle Seahawks looking to be considered the favorites for many pundits out there. +BRONCOS CR3W has the #Broncos and +San Francisco 49ers has the slight favorites to come out of the AFC and NFC. With the dark horse label going to the surging +Carolina Panthers. One asterisk to the NFC especially, is that if the +New Orleans Saints or the Seahawks get home field advantage for the playoffs, then they take the 'label of favorite' to emerge from the NFC. Other considerations include the +Chicago Bears and +Detroit Lions who square off against one another this Sunday, in Chicago. The winner of that game could take a big step from emerging in one of the toughest divisions in the +NFL, the NFC North Division.

From the AFC, the "Hoodie" always keeps the "Patsies" around. The credit goes to the "Hoodie" more than Brady. Remember Cassel, peeps? In fact, we still question the validity of what should have been deeply investigated and perhaps like the "shady" +NCAA , stripped of their trophies.... #SpyGate (enough said). Story for another day. Please don't provide anything other than they have failed to win one since then and that on any normal prep week without visual evidence of a walk-through (as close to a blueprint of a game plan as one can attain) of the #GreatestShowOnTurf and a loaded +St. Louis Rams squad. I don't know how the NFL were able to mussel up true professionals, Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, Torry Holt, and Holts opposite deep threat WR, Isaac Bruce, but somehow they have.

Their is your introspective on teams emerging as +Super Bowl contenders. Other clubs from the AFC, include the very well coached, lead, and clutch +Kansas City Chiefs along with the sporadic, but very talented +Cincinnati Bengals (who we relate to the Detroit Lions) in many respects. #GoOrange #Broncos #BroncosCountry #BroncosCr3w.

We are only 50% of the way through the regular season though, so a lot has yet to happen. Who will be the froth rising to the top of a golden ale and who will be just a few bubbles with a flat taste. #TimeWillTell as we like say. Carolina, although they are on the road, have a chance to make a big move and statement this weekend as well. The trip to the west coast will more than likely be a bit too much, but do not discount the way the Panthers are playing on defense. With the steal of the first round playing like it on their interior defensive line, #3 overall defense in the NFL. Star Lotuleilei, has proven to be an anchor in the trenches (where football is almost always won) from the former +University of Utah standout. A drastic change to last years Panthers. An interview with Cam Newton shed some light on what this young kid has inside of him and that he may have the intangibles to be remembered in a very good light. #TimeWillTell
